Level 1 Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

Thinking about a career in Adult Social Care? This introductory course will give you a great insight into the profession.

You’ll discover the range of job roles and responsibilities that are available.  And find out what skills and qualities you need to work in the sector. You’ll learn the core values and principles of adult social care.  As well as the importance of effective communication.

Completion of this course will lead to Level 1 qualification.

The course is free if you earn less than £25,750 or are on mean-tested benefits. Proof of eligibility is required.

Stronger families

We know that being a parent can be both rewarding and challenging. Our courses are here to support you to build a strong, secure and positive relationship with your child.

This course is aimed at parents, carers and grandparents of children aged 2 – 10 years who are over the age of 19.

This course is free for parents.

Helping your child shine: Understanding autism and behaviour

This course is ideal if you are a parent or carer of an autistic child.  It will help give you a deeper understanding of autism.  And provide you with practical strategies to support your child.

It will also cover:

  • the impact of autism on your child and your family
  • the importance of self-care for parents and carers
  • sources of relevant help and information 

The course is free for parents and carers.
