ESOL for Beginners

On this course, you’ll learn how to speak in English and listen to conversations in English. Supporting you in everyday life. You’ll improve reading, writing, and spelling skills. You’ll also learn more about life in the UK.

This course is suitable for those new to learning English. After you complete it, you can move onto a Next Steps course. This will help prepare you for more advanced courses.

This course is free if you earn less than £25,750 or are on mean-tested benefits. Proof of eligibility is required.

Next available course: Starting in February (2026)

Course length: 2.5 hours a week for 10 weeks

ESOL Improvers and Advanced

This course will help you build confidence in using English in your daily life. 

We’ll start at your level and cover speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will also develop your skills in using the correct grammar and punctuation as you progress.

This course is free if you earn less than £25,750 or are on mean-tested benefits. Proof of eligibility is required.

Next available course: Starting in February (2026)

Course length: 3 hours a week for 5-18 weeks
