Our Employability Programme can help you get ready for work or support you in upskilling in your current job. Whether you’re just starting out, returning to work, or volunteering, or aiming for a promotion, we’ve got you covered.
Employment skills help you grow personally and professionally. They are especially beneficial in the workplace, as they can help to advance your career. Understanding and improving these skills will help you achieve your full potential.
Our employment programmes are designed to prepare you for employment. And to support you in work. We offer three packages: Core, Standard and Enhanced. Each one is tailored to different employment needs. Ideal for anyone looking for their first job or those who want to try something new.
We can also identify opportunities for you to develop other skills that would be beneficial at work. These could include digital, ICT and professional courses.
The Core package (Confidence is Key)
Are you struggling to find suitable employment? Looking for a job can be difficult with various challenges to overcome.
Our Core package is designed to:
- build confidence - improve self-belief and self-management
- strengthen resilience - reduce stress, with increased health and wellbeing
- identify ways to deal with challenges or change
- improve your communication and interpersonal skills
- develop skills you need to work as part of a team
- find and understand the core values of an employer
The Core package is ideal for those who have:
- low self-belief and / or little self-confidence
- never been in the workplace - including volunteering roles
- been unemployed for more than 24 months
- low academic skills
This course is available to all, free of charge.

The Standard package
Do you want to improve your chances of getting a job, and go on to have a great career?
There are lots of job openings in essential industries. But today’s job market is competitive. With complex recruitment processes that can sometimes leave you feeling disappointed, frustrated and demoralised.
Showing you have the right skills, and are ready for work, can help you stand out from other applicants. Our Standard package aims to get you looking in the right places. With lots of tips and guidance on how to put forward your best self, so you can get the job you want!
With this package, you’ll:
- identify your own values and merits - recognising the skills you have and how they match with suitable jobs
- improve your job searching techniques
- complete some basic digital skills to support you find and apply for jobs from your phone
- create quality CVs and effective applications
- prepare for interviews, specific to the area of work you want to get into
- learn interview skills and techniques
- understand your own performance and be able to evaluate it
The Standard package is ideal for those who:
- are motivated and looking for work
- don’t have lots of confidence but want a new opportunity
- want to be in a better position to apply for jobs
- have been out of work for more than 12 months
This course is available to all, free of charge.

Wellness and Work
This course is ideal if you are facing mental health challenges or have low confidence. Or if you have limited work experience or have been out of work for a long time.
You’ll learn positive ways to boost your well-being and stay mentally well. Both at work and in your personal life. You’ll discover practical tools to support you. And you’ll set goals and strategies to keep you on track.

Volunteering
Our Volunteering course is perfect if you want to become a volunteer. Or if you are looking for a job and would like to get some work experience.
You’ll find out about the roles that are available. You’ll learn the skills needed to become a volunteer and you’ll get support to help you apply for a role. It will include a work placement with a charitable organisation.
This course is available to all, free of charge.

Digital skills
As well as employment skills, we can help you develop other skills that would be useful in the workplace.
Courses focussed on ICT and Digital Skills will show you how to use a smartphone to find jobs and apply. Then you can move on to computers, before aiming for a qualification in ICT. Find out more about our ICT courses.
