Suspending parking bays and getting permission to park where there are parking restrictions in operation

Suspending an on-street parking bay

We may suspend the use of on-street parking bays for specific reasons. We will consider applications for:

  • building operations
  • domestic removals
  • weddings, funerals or special events
  • delivery of goods taking longer than the specified time
  • filming (essential vehicles only such as lighting generators, prop vehicles)

Charges apply which are detailed on the application.

Getting permission to park where there are parking restrictions in operation

With a parking dispensation you can park for a limited time where there are parking restrictions in operation.

For example, a parking dispensation allows a specific vehicle to park temporarily on single or double yellow lines during restricted hours in a particular location to undertake essential works where a vehicle is needed.

Permission to park on yellow lines is called a dispensation.

A permit is issued which must be displayed clearly in the vehicle.

Charges apply which are detailed on the application.
