Before you start your request

We are responsible for most allotment garden sites throughout the district. However, there are some areas where these sites are managed by Town or Parish Councils or by WDH.

Please also note: If your issue relates to a tree, please complete the General tree enquiry MyAccount form

Vacant allotment plots

We don't currently have any vacant plots at the moment.

You may need to wait for at least a year, or even longer, to be given a plot due to the high demand and low number of plots being given up.

How much does it cost?

Allotment rents cost 26p per square metre and this price is reviewed each year.

There is an additional £15.07 water charge if the site is below 125 sq. metre or £30.14 if the site is above 125 sq. metre for sites where water is provided.

A concession of 50 per cent on rent is available to plot holders who can give evidence that they are:

Of state pension age, or in receipt of benefits related to disability.

For information on how to pay your allotment fees see How to pay Council bills.

How long does it take?

Allotments are very popular and there are waiting lists for most sites. When you apply for an allotment, your name is added to the waiting list for that site. When a plot becomes available, we contact the next person on the list, and so on. All applications will be dealt with in date order.

Login to your MyAccount to check your position on the waiting list
