Wakefield's digital future
"We want everyone in the Wakefield district to have the chance to use computers, the internet, and other digital tools in a way that works for them."

That’s why we are working with lots of different partners to help you learn digital skills, feel confident online, and get access to the internet.
Our project is called “Wakefield’s Digital Future.” It’s all about helping people who don’t have the same chances to use digital tools.
What is Digital Inclusion?
Digital inclusion means making sure everyone can access the internet and engage online - safely and confidently - when you need and want to.
It’s about making sure everyone can:
- get online
- learn how to use digital tools
- stay safe while using them
This can help people apply for jobs, look after their health, or help their children learn.
We want to make sure no one is left behind as the world becomes more digital.
How we help you
Not everyone needs the same kind of help. Some people:
- don’t have a computer or phone
- can’t afford internet
- don’t feel confident
- speak a different language
- worry about staying safe online
- have accessibility needs
That is why we offer different kinds of support, depending on what you need.
We are proud to be a driving force for awareness of Digital inclusion in Wakefield. But digital inclusion isn’t just our job - it’s something the whole community can help with. Schools, businesses, health services, charities, and neighbours all have a part to play.
Even small things - like helping someone get online or showing them how to use a mobile phone - can make a big difference.
We have created Digital Support Directory. It’s a list of places where people can get help with digital skills, internet access, and advice.
Together, we can make sure everyone in Wakefield has the chance to be part of the digital world.
