About Get Online Week 2025
Get online Week is about helping people all over the country feel confident in the digital world. This could mean learning how to apply for a job, manage money, or talk to family and friends online.
Good Things Foundation aims is to help thousands of people discover:
- the benefits of being online
- confidence online and using the internet
In Wakefield, the Council and local groups are working together to run events and learning sessions.
These sessions will help people in Wakefield, Council staff, and local groups learn more about:
- accessing digital tools
- connecting to digital tools
- improving digital skills
- staying safe online

Monday 20 October 2025
Get online with the Rovers - Featherstone Rovers Foundation
Event details: Enjoy some light refreshments as you’re given practical support to improve your digital skills and confidence. A great opportunity to connect with neighbours and Featherstone Rovers’ staff and players. No need to book, please drop in.

Computer Help
Event details: Use the library computers with assistance from our friendly library staff or volunteers. No need to book, please drop in.

Libraries Wordfest Virtual Reality (VR) Experience
Event details: Explore a mythical, magical virtual world in this all-ages VR adventure as part of Wakefield Libraries WordFest celebration. No need to book, please drop in.

How do I get online and how do I stay safe?
Event details: Session 1, 10am - 12 noon - Practical session introducing laptops, PCs and smartphones, commonly used software and apps. Session 2, 1:30pm - 4pm, Practical session covering cybersecurity, passwords, identity theft, online safety and an introduction to social media. Lunch is provided.
