A work experience placement at Wakefield Council could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Flexible placement options
We aim to match your placement to your career and learning goals.
Most placements last 1 or 2 weeks. But, if that is not right for you, we’ll try to help if you would like:
- a longer placement
- a shorter shadowing opportunity
- a virtual meeting with an officer from a service area you are interested in
How to apply
Please apply at least 8 weeks before your start date. This gives us time to plan your placement.
Who can apply?
- students aged 14 and above, including college and university
- adults looking to explore new career paths or return to work
