Community grants now available in Castleford

Community groups and local charities in Castleford can apply for new funding. Grants are available through the Castleford Pride in Place Community Grants Programme.

Grants from £100 to £10,000 are available to help support local projects.

These grants are funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

The aim is to help people improve their neighbourhoods and bring communities together. Making Castleford an even better place to live.

To get funding, groups must show how their project will help local people. Projects should support one or more of these themes:

    • local history and heritage
    • housing
    • jobs and skills
    • health and wellbeing
    • bringing people together
    • education
    • transport and safety

Projects that could get funding include:

    • improving community buildings
    • making public spaces look better
    • community events
    •  heritage and cultural projects
    • health and wellbeing activities
    • buying new equipment
    • skills and training programmes

The Castleford Pride in Place Board has allocated £250,000 to the community grants programme, which will be distributed over the next four years.

The grant programme will open in stages.
Phase One starts on 31 July 2026, and applications must be received by 31 August 2026.
