Pride in place Featherstone

  • Pride in place. Led by you - backed by UK Government

Featherstone has been awarded £20 million as part of the first phase of Pride in Place funding. This will be provided by the UK Government over a ten-year period.

This £2 million a year can help improve all sorts of things in Featherstone. This includes things like

  • community centres
  • parks
  • local facilities
  • streets
  • public spaces

It can also support projects that help people and bring the community closer together.

Featherstone is a small town with a big personality. It’s been around for hundreds of years. It even appears in the Domesday Book of 1086. This shows just how long people have lived and worked here. Featherstone is known for its:

  • friendly community spirit
  • proud mining heritage
  • major rugby trophies

But regeneration isn’t just about celebrating the past. It’s about looking forward and creating a bright future. We want today’s residents, and future generations to be proud of their town.

That’s why we want local people to help shape how this money is spent.
The Government will provide funding in instalments. We want you to be part of the decision-making process - right from the start.

We’ll be running some face-to-face drop-in sessions where you can come along and share your thoughts. Tell us what matters to you and help shape how this money is spent.

These sessions will be held locally, and everyone is welcome to be part of the conversation.

We will be sharing details of dates, times and venues once these have been confirmed.
