What is Pride in place?
The Pride in Place Programme is the UK government’s flagship community programme.
Over £5billion will be used to help support neighbourhoods across Great Britain. Funding is shared in instalments over 10 years to improve small communities - of around 10,000 people.
The programme puts local people in charge of shaping their own neighbourhoods. And gives them the chance to choose what matters most to them. This can include things like improving local spaces, services and opportunities.
Wakefield Council has secured £60million of funding through this programme.
