It is an offence to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement in connection with an application which carries an unlimited fine.

Representations must relate to the four licensing objectives, these are:
- prevention of crime and disorder
- public safety
- prevention of public nuisance
- protection of children from harm
Applications may be inspected at the licensing office between 8:30am and 5pm. The
licensing register may be inspected online
. It is an offence to, knowingly or recklessly, make a false statement in connection with an application and the maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction is £5000
