Wakefield City Centre Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) – Consultation
In April 2017, Wakefield Council introduced a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in Wakefield city centre.
The PSPO gave the Police and Council extra powers to take action against anti-social behaviour. It was put in place to help deal with issues like:
- drinking
- drug use
- people urinating in public
The PSPO was renewed in April 2020 and again in April 2023.
We are now considering updating the current PSPO. We are proposing to:
- renew it for another three years
- introduce new rules to deal with a wider range of anti-social behaviours
- expand the PSPO area to include the retail parks on Ings Road and Charlesworth Way
We’d like to hear from you about our proposals.
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and share your views.
There are 18 questions, and you'll be able to look at the draft PSPO as you progress through the survey.
All responses are completely anonymous.
This consultation is open from 16 September until 13 October.
