Wakefield’s Family Hubs recognised at Parliament event
Tuesday, October 01, 2024
In September, Wakefield Families Together was one of only ten local authorities to be invited to Parliament to participate in the ‘Family Hubs Five Years On’ event. The event celebrated the success of family hubs across the country in helping families access essential health and care support services.
At the event, our team were able to shine a spotlight on the difference our Family Hubs make to local people. It was also an opportunity to celebrate the progress from others in the Family Hub Network and learn from their achievements.
Our Family Hubs play an important role in the communities they serve. They are designed to make it easier for families to get the support they need, by bringing a range of services together under one roof. From helping children develop in their early years to providing mental health support to parents and young people – the hubs have something to help the whole family.
Over the past five years, families in our community have faced many challenges. But our hubs have been there for families when they’ve needed them. Helping us to build stronger, more resilient communities.
Wakefield’s Family and Youth Hubs have been included in a list of new approaches across England by The Anna Freud Centre. Showing the power of collaboration between services to improve the development of children and families across the country.
