Residents urged to apply for Energy Savers Scheme

Wednesday, November 12, 2025

There’s still time for eligible residents to apply for the Wakefield Council Energy Savers Scheme.

The scheme offers free cavity wall and loft insulation for eligible households. Free gas central heating upgrades are also available for private rented tenants that qualify.

“As we head into winter, I’d encourage all residents to check if they’re eligible for our Energy Savers Scheme.

“Insulation and heating upgrades can make a big difference to keeping homes warm. It also helps to save money from lower heating costs.

“Funds will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so residents that are interested are urged to apply now.”
