Refugee Week 2025
Wednesday, June 11, 2025
This year, Refugee Week takes place from 16 to 22 June.
This campaign brings people from different backgrounds together for celebration. It allows deeper understanding of why people are displaced, and the challenges they face when seeking safety.
Refugee Week has evolved into an international movement, with events spanning the globe. This year’s theme is Community as a Superpower. The 'simple acts' part of the campaign showcases small things we can all do to support refugees and make new connections in our communities.
Take part in Refugee Week to be part of a movement of people everywhere taking small steps to create a big change.
How to get involved
There are lots of events taking place across our district that you can join to celebrate refugees, such as:
- Age UK’s International Time for Tea - Thursday 19 June, The Ridings, 10:30am to 1pm
- Refugee Week Celebration Day - Saturday 21 June, The Art House, 10am to 3pm
