Changes to Wakefield Council’s Cabinet announced

Wakefield Council Leader Cllr Denise Jeffery has set out changes to the Council’s top team.

Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr Jack Hemingway, will now lead the Regeneration and Economic Growth portfolio. Cllr George Ayre takes over as the new portfolio holder for Environment and Climate Change.

Full details of the proposed changes to Wakefield’s Cabinet are as follows:

Councillor Jack Hemingway - Regeneration and Economic Growth Portfolio Holder.

Councillor George Ayre - Environment and Climate Change Portfolio Holder.

All other Cabinet Portfolios and deputies will remain unchanged. These changes will come into effect on Friday 6 June.

These changes follow Cllr Michael Graham’s resignation as Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Growth.
