Are you passionate about promoting health and well-being in your community? Do you enjoy connecting with people and exploring Wakefield? Then becoming a volunteer walk leader with us might be the perfect fit for you!

What do walk leaders do?

As a walk leader, you play a vital role in our walks. From welcoming participants to ensuring safety and enjoyment throughout the walk. You help make our walks inclusive and enjoyable for all. We provide training to equip you with the skills and confidence to lead walks in your local area. Plus, you'll receive support from our project coordinator and access to training opportunities. Become part of a supportive community and make a real difference in the Wakefield District.

Why volunteer as a walk leader?

Our dedicated volunteers often share that the most rewarding aspect of being a walk leader is the opportunity to positively impact their communities. Watching others improve their health, well-being, and confidence with each step is incredibly fulfilling. It's this sense of contribution and connection that keeps our volunteers coming back week after week. With walks across the district, there are plenty of volunteering opportunities waiting for you. Whether you prefer a stroll or a brisk walk, there's something for everyone.
