Service Director - Technology, Digital and Customer Services
About the role
Technology, digital and customer services are central to how Wakefield Council delivers services, supports its workforce and meets the needs of residents. As Service Director, you will lead a broad portfolio that sits at the heart of the organisation, ensuring services are reliable, secure, customer focused and fit for the future.
Reporting to the Corporate Director for Resources and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership across a range of critical services. Working with colleagues, Members, partners and suppliers, you will help shape how the Council uses technology, data and customer insight to improve services and deliver its priorities.
Key responsibilities include
- Overseeing digital infrastructure, cyber security, information governance, data and business intelligence.
- Developing the Council’s Technology and Digital Transformation Strategy, ensuring investment in technology supports organisational priorities and service improvement.
- Improving customer experience by strengthening digital services, customer channels and access to Council services.
- Driving the effective use of data, insight and business intelligence to support evidence-based decision making and organisational performance
- Optimising the Council’s technology estate.
- Acting as the Council’s Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO), with responsibility for cyber security, information governance and organisational resilience
