Choosing a healthier environment

The number of electric vehicles, cars, buses, vans, and large trucks, is expected to reach 145 million by 2030 (Lifetime emissions of EVs are lower than gasoline cars, experts say).

Electric vehicles (EVs) help reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality.

They are a practical and environmentally responsible choice for drivers.

There’s government support, expanding infrastructure, and long-term savings.

Which is why it could be the perfect time to consider going electric in the UK.

Some say materials used in EV production have an environmental impact equivalent to that of driving a conventional car.

But research by the European Energy Agency states that “even when we account for the source of electricity generation, electric cars emit approximately 17 to 30% less carbon than gasoline or diesel cars.”

With switching to cleaner energy sources further reducing the environmental impact of vehicles.

Unlike internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, EVs emit no direct emissions when running on electricity.

The Government has pledged to the UK electricity grid being net zero by 2030 (GOV.UK - Clean Power 2030 Action Plan: A new era of clean electricity - connections reform annex, updated April 2025). This means charging an EV will become cleaner overtime, due to more renewable energy.
