We are reviewing discounts to reduce fraudulent claims. Each year people claim that they live alone, when they do not. This is similar to benefit fraud and people who do it can be prosecuted in the same way. They will go through the court system and have to pay back the money they owe.
Checks will be made to make sure everyone who claims the discount is genuine.
