The Nelson Room

Pontefract Town Hall offers a stunning and breath-taking venue. It's perfect for those who seek a dignified and practical setting for a unique wedding.

The Nelson Room is located on the first floor of the Town Hall. It was renamed the Nelson Room in 1855, when the original plaster cast model of Nelson’s final moments was donated to the Town by its then MP Benjamin Oliveria.

The plaster model was sculptured by I E Carew and used to mould bronze castings for Nelsons Column in London.

The room will seat up to 60 guests for your ceremony.

For your reception you can hire the Assembly Hall. Located on the same floor of the Town Hall, this offers a flexible stylish space ideal for live entertainment and evening celebrations. It accommodates up to 120 guests.
