Customer Advice

The loss of leaves from trees in autumn is part of the natural cycle and cannot be avoided by pruning.

For roads, streets or the highway, extra teams are working in the autumn to clear fallen leaves.

In parks and green spaces, paths or other areas of hard standing are regularly cleared of fallen leaves. Leaves on grass/shrub beds are left until most of the leaves have fallen before they are removed. If leaving them would damage the grass the leaves would be removed sooner).

Before you start, you will need to tell us

Where the problem is, please try to be specific with the answer you give.

For example, a specified location/postcode with nearby notable landmarks. This helps us more than just a street name.

We are responsible for keeping the area clean and free of litter.

We will:

  • keep town centres clean
  • clean the main road once a week
  • patrol other streets and roads regularly, collecting litter
  • remove fly-tipping when it's reported
  • empty litter bins before they are full
