Drug litter - syringes and needles

Waste from drug use can be disturbing and a health hazard to the public. If you find used drug equipment, you should report it to us immediately.

You should not pick up needles unless there is an immediate danger to you or others. We will remove and dispose of needles, syringes and other drug-related items.

You will need to tell us:

• the exact location of the needle(s)
• roughly how many items there are
• a description of what you've found
• if the needles are near where children play

Report discarded needles

If you wish to report discarded needles, please contact us. You will get a reference number when you log your query. If you provide us with an email address an automated acknowledgement of your request will be sent to you.
