Safeguarding Adults Board
The Wakefield and District Safeguarding Adults Board (WDSAB) is a statutory partnership constituted under the Care Act 2014.
The Board is chaired by an independent chair, Diane Hampshire. Its core statutory members are Wakefield Council, West Yorkshire Police and Wakefield District Health & Care Partnership (NHS).
Non-statutory members include:
- Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust
- South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
- West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service
- Healthwatch Wakefield
- HM Prison Service
- Spectrum Community Health
- Independent Care Home Representative
- Voluntary and Community Sector (VCSE) Representative
The Board is responsible for Wakefield’s Joint Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures. The Board also produces local contacts and practice resources for Wakefield. Here you can find the most recent versions of the strategic plan and annual report along with all Board documentation.
The Board meets quarterly and has an excellent and committed membership. The Board has a three-year strategic plan which is updated annually. The Board publishes an annual report which details the activity of Board partners in the previous year and their safeguarding work. The annual report also contains details of any Safeguarding Adult Reviews and the year-end performance information.
