Expenses - What are Senior Officers entitled to? - Wakefield Council
The Chief Executive
The Chief Executive is paid a salary that represents a proportion of the Council’s overall budget.
The Chief Executive is expected to work such hours as are necessary to ensure the job gets done. This routinely involves evening meetings as well as a standard Monday to Friday business week. Weekend working is often required too. Andrew is ‘on call’ at all other times, particularly to cover emergency planning requirements.
No extra payments are made for such extended hours. As such, the Chief Executive is able to claim for a restricted amount of legitimate business expenses, including business travel.
Corporate Directors
Corporate directors sometimes work outside the standard Monday to Friday business week, including evenings and weekends. They can claim back a limited amount of legitimate expenses, such as for business travel.
