World Cup fever hits Wakefield

Wakefield Council has announced live screenings for England’s group-stage matches on the big screen at WX in Wakefield city centre. 

Experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup this summer, at the popular city centre venue. It’s free and no tickets are required. The bar will also be open. 

“We’re really pleased to bring the exciting World Cup atmosphere to WX this summer.
“Tournaments like this unite people. And with such a talented England squad this year, there’s every reason to be excited.
“So gather your friends and family, come down, and get behind the team as they aim to bring the World Cup home from North America.”

The confirmed match schedule is:

Wednesday 17 June – England vs Croatia (Kick-off 9:00pm). Doors open 7.30pm.
Tuesday 23 June – England vs Ghana (Kick-off 9:00pm). Doors open 7.30pm.
Saturday 27 June – Panama vs England (Kick-off 10:00pm). Doors open 9.30pm.
