What’s on at Anglers Country Park

Wakefield Council is pleased to announce an exciting line up of events taking place at Anglers Country Park.

“We’re pleased to be offering these new events at Anglers Country Park which the whole family can enjoy. It’s a fantastic Green Flag park, popular with thousands of visitors each year. As well as these fantastic events, why not make a day of it?

“People can also visit the café, enjoy activities in the visitor centre and discover the Room on the Broom story tail."

Upcoming events at Anglers Country Park include:

  • Wednesday 23 September - Into Balance: An Autumn Equinox Experience – try Hatha Yoga, a relaxing soundbath or an adult art session (bookable)

  • Throughout October - Move & Groove Chair Yoga classes and adult art classes (bookable)

  • Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November - Spooktacular Scarecrow Trail

  • Tuesday 27 October - Pumpkin carving (bookable)

  • Friday 30 October - Spellbound Creations (bookable)

  • Saturday 21 November – Enchanted Woodland Workshop (bookable)

  • Saturday 5 December – Merry Maker’s Workshop (bookable)

  • Saturday 12 December – Santa’s Little Crafters (bookable)

  • Wednesday 16 December – Wreath Making (bookable)

  • Sunday 20 December - Visit from Santa and crafts (bookable)

Angler’s Country Park Café is open Monday to Sunday from 9am – 4pm. The Visitor Centre is open Tuesday to Sunday (and Mondays in school holidays) from 10am – 4pm and promotes active learning and play. This includes kids colouring, dressing up clothes and other activities such as “design your own nature reserve” and puzzles.

There’s also a gift shop selling local Yorkshire produce, books and children’s toys and games. And the children’s playground is set for an upgrade in the coming months.

Mobility scooter hire is also available during Visitor Centre opening hours with last hire at 2.30pm.
