Monday, November 10, 2025

Wakefield Council is calling on creative and digital businesses across West Yorkshire to seize an exciting opportunity. Purpose-designed units in the city’s newest cultural and business destination, Wakefield Exchange (WX), are now available for rent.

“We are looking for tenants to share our exciting vision as the city’s newest contemporary workspace for creative and digital businesses.

“Whether you’re starting out, growing your business, or want to be part of Wakefield’s number one cultural hub, Wakefield Exchange is the place for you.”

Cllr Hannah Appleyard

Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport

Cllr Hannah Appleyard

Opened in February 2025, Wakefield Exchange is a dynamic multi-use space in the heart of Wakefield. It hosts everything from large-scale music events and art exhibitions to family-friendly experiences and boasts an amazing selection of on-site street food vendors.

With high street footfall, excellent public transport links, and a packed calendar of festivals, events, and conferences, WX offers an unbeatable environment for businesses to grow and connect.

Wakefield Exchange is designed as a contemporary workspace for creative and digital enterprises - whether they are starting out, scaling up, or already established. It’s a place where businesses can thrive alongside Wakefield’s leading cultural organisations.

Tenants benefit from competitive rents, business support, and access to fit-out grants. Three street-facing creative units and a landmark space known as The Factory are now open for expressions of interest:

  • Three Creative Units: 31–45 sqm, fronting Union Street, with passing trade from The Bull Ring, Trinity Walk, and Wakefield Bus Station.
  • The Factory: A 408 sqm statement space with its own kitchen and private meeting rooms - ideal for a headquarters, studio, or collaborative hub.

Located next to Wakefield Bus Station and a short walk from both train stations, WX is fully accessible and equipped with superfast Wi-Fi, making it easy for visitors and clients to connect from across the region and beyond.

Creative, digital, and cultural businesses in Wakefield and West Yorkshire are invited to enquire now.
