The Mayor’s activities this September

The Mayor, Cllr Brian Moorhouse, has had another exciting month of engagements. Here’s a round-up of what he’s been up to:
On Sunday 6 September, the Mayor attended Sandal Cricket Club for the first England Masters vs Sri Lankan 11.
The Mayor attended a Citizenship Ceremony on Wednesday 9 September where 39 new British citizens were welcomed representing 18 different countries.
Cllr Moorhouse attended the Lord Lieutenant Awards Ceremony in Huddersfield on Thursday 10 September.
On Saturday 12 September, the Mayor attended the BBC Radio Leeds Make a Difference Awards at Royal Armouries, to say thank you and recognise those who improve lives where we live across West Yorkshire.
The Mayor attended Lofthouse Grange and Lodge Care Home on Sunday 13 September to mark its new Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) Accreditation.
Cllr Moorhouse successfully abseiled down the Wakefield Cathedral spire on Saturday 19 September to raise money for his chosen charity – Stepping Stones Baby Bank.
On Sunday 20 September, the Mayor attended a Hindu event, Raksha Bandhan Utsav, at Outwood Hall. This is a celebration of the timeless values of care, protection, mutual respect and togetherness. And, to give heartfelt gratitude to our emergency and front-line services.
