Skate into Christmas as festive fun returns to Pontefract and Castleford Markets

Wednesday, November 19, 2025

Wakefield Council’s Festive Markets are back, and this year’s programme is packed with even more seasonal sparkle. Along with the return of the popular ice rink at Castleford Market.

From handcrafted gifts and global street food to live entertainment and magical experiences like Elf School and ice skating. The markets will light up Castleford and Pontefract throughout November and December.

“Our Festive Markets are a brilliant way to bring people together, support our high streets and showcase our incredible local talent and creativity. Whether you’re shopping for gifts or enjoying the entertainment, there’s something for everyone, and it’s all happening right on your doorstep.”
