Share your views on the district's parks and green spaces

Residents are being asked for their views to help shape future to parks and green spaces across the district.
“Our parks and green spaces play an important role in supporting health, wellbeing and community life across the district.
“We want to make sure they continue to meet the needs of residents, which is why I’d encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete our parks survey. Your feedback will help us understand what’s working well and where we should focus future improvements.”

Last year's feedback helped the Council enhance landscapes and biodiversity, install additional bins to help keep parks clean, provide more benches and seating, and improve signage to help guide visitors, support safety and promote community updates, events and ranger-led activities.
These improvements have helped the Council retain Green Flag status for five parks across the district.
Wakefield Council carries out the park users survey to understand how local communities use their parks, how satisfied they are and what improvements they would like to see.
People are encouraged to share their thoughts, ideas and opinions on their local park and suggest ways in which it could be improved.
Parks play a key role in helping to keep residents active, healthy, and happy. The Council mows the grass, plants bulbs, prunes trees, empties bins, picks up litter and repairs play equipment, working alongside 45 amazing Friends Groups – local volunteers who give their time, dedication, and skills to help make our parks even better.
