Residents invited to put their questions to Council Leader and Deputy Leader

Friday, June 26, 2026

We’re inviting residents and businesses across the district to take part in a new initiative to hear directly from the Council’s leadership.

Cllr Karl Johnson, Leader of the Council, and Cllr John Thomas, Deputy Leader, will answer questions from the public in an upcoming video Q&A.

“This initiative aims to strengthen communication, build trust, and ensure our residents feel heard and well informed about local issues, decisions, and priorities.

“We want to hear from you about what matters most to you and your community, what’s working well, and what could be better.”

“Your feedback will help us to continue to focus our work on what’s important to you.

“Please send your questions in and we will answer as many as we can. We look forward to hearing from our residents.”

Anyone living in the district is encouraged to take part by submitting a question via email to internet@wakefield.gov.uk

Participants are asked to include their name and address to prove residency when submitting a question, although this information will not be shared publicly.

The deadline for submissions is 9am on Monday 13 July. All questions will be reviewed, and the Leader and Deputy Leader will respond to as many as possible during a filmed session. The Q&A video will be shared across the Council’s social media channels.
