Residents invited to help shape the future of housing in Wakefield district

Residents are being invited to share their views on the future of housing across the Wakefield district.
A survey launches today (Monday 28 September) to help shape the Housing Plan for Wakefield District for the period 2027-2030. The new plan will set out a vision for housing and identify what’s most important to residents over the coming years.
"Our new Housing Plan is currently being developed and will set out our vision for the future of housing across the district.
“It’s really important to us that anything we take forward reflects the aspiration and vision that residents have for the district. That’s why we need local people’s views to help shape the plan for the next three years. We want the new plan to reflect the realities and challenges people face today.
"This is a great opportunity for residents to tell us what matters most to them when it comes to housing and neighbourhoods."

The Housing Plan will help deliver a range of high-quality homes to support regeneration and economic growth. This will include affordable homes that meet the needs of people at every stage of their lives.
The survey invites residents to share their views on housing issues, including affordable housing, housing that supports regeneration, and support for vulnerable residents.
Feedback from residents and partners will play an important role in shaping priorities, policies and investment decisions.
Cllr Wakefield added: "Please take part to help us better understand what residents want and need from housing in the years ahead. To make sure our new Housing Plan reflects those needs."
