The biggest ever recruitment drive for the Council’s Neighbourhood Services team launches this week.

The Council has over 20 roles available. These include jobs working in green spaces as park rangers and gardeners, road maintenance and gully maintenance crews. As well as a business support officer, mechanic, a waste recycling operative and HGV drivers.

The Leader of the Council, Cllr Karl Johnson, will open a recruitment event on Friday 26 June, at the Kingswood Suite, Wakefield Town Hall from 10.30am – 1.30pm.

“We’ve got some great opportunities for local people who are looking for local jobs.

“This is a great opportunity to start a new career with us. And make a positive difference to where you live.

“We support every employee so they can develop their skills and make progress in their careers. Come along on Friday to find more.”

The informal drop-in event offers an opportunity for prospective candidates to meet recruiting managers and current employees. They can gain an understanding of available jobs and learn what a typical day in these roles looks like.

There’s no need to book in advance. Come to reception in the Town Hall on the day. Refreshments will be available at the event. Jobseekers just need to bring their CV.
