Pontefract Liquorice Festival is back on Sunday 12 July 2026 and what a bumper crop it is this year. Get ready for sweet-themed fun celebrating Pontefract’s historic link with liquorice.
“Pontefract Liquorice Festival is a great day out for all the family to enjoy, as we celebrate the town’s unique link to liquorice.
“There’s lots going on with street entertainment and colourful market stalls. And you can also visit many of our amazing local, independent businesses with many selling treats with a liquorice twist.”

Pontefract Liquorice Festival is a firm family favourite with something for everyone to enjoy including the return of the famous food and drink market.
Venues across Pontefract will be offering delicious liquorice-themed items to delight taste buds throughout the festival weekend. It’s a chance to discover some of the independent bars, restaurants and cafes across Pontefract.
