Wakefield Council has invested £67,000 into the refurbishment as part of its ongoing commitment to improving parks and play spaces across the district. The project has been supported by local ward councillors.

Designed for children aged 1-14 years, the upgraded park is equipped with a new multi-play-unit with a slide, ladder and accessible low-level steps. To support inclusive play, a bee springie and an emoji discus roundabout have also been fitted.

The upgraded play area has been carefully designed to get children climbing, swinging, sliding, traversing, rocking, and rotating.

A new floor based trim trail has been installed to encourage challenge and coordination. Whilst the new dice daisy provides children with interactive play opportunities. Additional seating has also been added in the play area for parents and carers.
