Micro ceremonies now available at Wakefield Town Hall’s new piano room
Tuesday, June 23, 2026
Wakefield Council has introduced a new micro-ceremony option as part of our registration and celebration service, offering couples a more intimate way to say, “I do”.
Created in response to customer feedback, the new option is perfect for those looking for a simple ceremony with space for a small group of loved ones. The newly available piano room can accommodate up to 10 guests, making it an ideal choice for couples who want a relaxed, personal celebration with close family and friends.
This is the latest addition to the range of ceremony options available at Wakefield Town Hall. Couples can choose from:
- A ceremony with two witnesses in the statutory room
- A small ceremony in the piano room
- Room One, which seats up to 25 guests
- The luxurious Lofthouse suite which holds up to 45 guests.
Fees vary depending on the option and space selected, offering couples flexibility to plan a day that suits their style and their budget.
A simple ceremony with just the couple and two witnesses is called a statutory ceremony. This option is available at Pontefract and Wakefield Town Hall on a Wednesday. For more information, visit: Statutory ceremony venues - Wakefield Council.
Located in the heart of the Civic Quarter, Wakefield Town Hall is known for its Victorian charm and character. Following recent renovations, it has become a beautiful setting for celebrations.
