Get to know Technology Enabled Care, free sessions to explore care
Thursday, March 12, 2026
Wakefield Council is holding drop in sessions to help residents get to know about Technology Enabled Care (TEC). The digital tools and support systems that help people stay safe and independent at home.
These sessions are designed for anyone who wants to understand how TEC works and what options are available.
“Our specialist teams will be on hand to offer practical advice, answer questions and give reassurance.
“We know Vico’s withdrawal of their Care Link service has left many people concerned about where to turn. So, we’ve created these sessions to help people find out more about what else is available. The sessions are open to all residents so please come along and talk to the team.”
Councillor Michelle Collins
Cabinet Member for Adults and Health
TEC includes a wide range of tools such as alarms, sensors, fall detectors, and 24 hour monitoring. These can help spot risks early, provide reassurance, and support people to remain independent.
Vico Homes Care Link telecare service for private customers will cease at the end of March. Anyone who has a Care Link service arranged through Wakefield Council as part of an agreed plan will continue with Care Link until the Council secures a new provider.
All information on the drop-in session is available on the Council website here – please check for up-to-date event information. The events are free and no appointments are needed.
