Get moving with new fitness equipment at Gorton Street

Thursday, October 01, 2026

Residents in Kinsley have a new way to get active outdoors with the installation of fitness equipment at the open space on Gorton Street.

The new equipment is free for residents to use and offers a convenient way to add more movement and exercise into the day.

Three fitness stations provide a range of activities. Designed to help people improve their strength, muscle tone and flexibility.

Whether you want to stretch, strengthen or get your heart pumping, there are plenty of options to try. The equipment includes a sit-up bench and pull-up bar. Alongside a flex unit with a leg raise, a tone unit featuring a stepper, and a shape unit with a push-up bar.

The location also makes it easier to combine exercise with time outdoors. Whether you are stopping by for a quick workout or including the equipment as part of a walk around the area.

Located opposite the rugby field, Gorton Street was identified as an ideal location for the new fitness equipment, to provide more opportunities for exercise and training for the local rugby club. And encourage the wider community to get moving and keep active in their own area.
