Drop-in domestic abuse support services
Wednesday, June 10, 2026
Cranstoun are offering three drop-in sessions for anyone experiencing domestic abuse. They deliver our Wakefield Domestic Abuse Support Service (Wakefield DASS), providing services such as:
- assessment, support and safety planning for victim-survivors of domestic abuse. Including an assessment of security measures in the home such as locks and lighting.
Each of the planned drop-in sessions will take place on days following England’s World Cup football matches.
Football does not cause domestic abuse. But it can intensify existing abuse.
During the 2024 Euros, 999 calls related to domestic abuse increased by 13% when England were playing. Statistics also show that instances of domestic abuse rise by 38% when England lose, and by 26% when they win or draw.
Domestic abuse is never acceptable – whatever the score.
The drop-in sessions will take place at The Woolstapler, 8 Cheapside, Wakefield, WF1 2SD.
Dates and times:
- Thursday 18 June, 10am to 12 noon
- Wednesday 24 June, 10am to 12 noon
