Discover Newmillerdam’s latest lakeside adventure

Families, walkers and nature lovers can enjoy a new adventure at Newmillerdam Country Park.
This is thanks to the installation of exciting sculptures that celebrate the park's wildlife and community spirit.

Visitors can discover eight new wildlife sculptures along the lakeside at Newmillerdam, showcasing animals that can be seen in the park and the surrounding area. Created by artist Mike Burgess, the sculptures have been chosen to help people learn more about the wildlife, including an owl, a swan and a badger.
The park’s popular Gnome Roam is also getting a refresh. Alongside eight charming gnomes hidden throughout the woodland, the giant bear sculpture will be back. Visitors can spot the gnomes carrying out everyday tasks undertaken by the Council's Countryside Team and Friends Group, including litter picking and caring for the park.
The project has been funded through Section 106 developer contributions, with additional funding from the Council and the Friends of Newmillerdam Country Park.
The sculptures have been designed to encourage people of all ages to get outdoors, enjoy nature and see more of the country park in a fun and interactive way. Whether you're searching for the hardworking woodland gnomes or spotting the lakeside wildlife sculptures, there's plenty to see and enjoy along the way.
