Council warning residents to be on their guard against scammers

We’ve been made aware that someone is using 0345 603 1539, one of our automated numbers, to contact people.

We’d never contact you from this number. And we’d never ask you for your card details over the phone.

Do not accept any calls from 0345 603 1539 – even if it shows up on your phone as Wakefield Council.

Do not provide your card details to anyone claiming to be from Wakefield Council.

Anyone who is a victim of a scam should report it to Action Fraud via www.actionfraud.police.uk
