Supplementary Planning Documents add further detail to the policies in the development plan.

Wakefield District Design Code Supplementary Planning Document (WDDC SPD)
The WDDC SPD was adopted by the Council on 16 June 2026 and is a material consideration when determining planning applications. This replaces the Residential Design Guide and the Street Design Guide Supplementary Planning Documents and masterplanning guidance.
The Design Code can be viewed on the Design Code website Wakefield District Design Code SPD
On the Design Code website you can select your development scale and type to filter which codes and guidance you will need to meet the Design Code's requirements.
