Safe Point
Our Safe Point helps residents and visitors by providing a safe place for anyone out enjoying Wakefield’s nightlife. It’s a friendly space where you can get support if things don’t go to plan on your night out.
The mobile unit is out on Westgate on Fridays, Saturdays and Bank Holidays between 10:30pm - 5:30am.
Safe Point is a first port of call for welfare and medical issues. If you need help, it offers a safe and welcoming space to:
- get medical care if you feel unwell or are injured
- talk to someone if you feel worried or scared
- charge your phone
You can spot our Safe Point staff by their green uniforms.
Safe Point is a joint initiative between the Council and partners, including the ambulance service, police and local venues. Its aim is to improve safety in the city at night time, reduce the pressure on emergency services and support businesses.
It also supports existing safety measures which are already in place. These include:
- Ask for Angela
- Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs)
