Burials can still go ahead without any restrictions.

Funeral at a cemetery

Your funeral director will fill in an interment notice with you when you book the burial and this will have the details of the grave in advance so that the grave can be prepared.

There are no longer any restrictions as to the number of people who can attend a burial.

On the day you will be met by a representative of the Council before the service is conducted by your chosen minister or funeral director.

Cemetery grounds maintenance

We maintain all cemeteries on a planned rota, with grass cutting carried out approximately every three weeks.

During spring and summer, grass grows more quickly and may appear longer between visits. Our teams continue to work across all sites to maintain standards as consistently as possible.

Work is scheduled taking into account weather conditions, staffing levels, and operational priorities. While we aim to follow the rota, timings may occasionally change.

We appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain all cemeteries fairly and respectfully.
