Organising a wedding or civil partnership ceremony can be daunting if you haven’t done it before.
There are so many things to think about.
To help we have put together a list of important questions you should ask your potential wedding or civil partnership ceremony venue when you visit:

- how long can you hold the date for while we check registrar availability?
 - how much will the deposit be, and when are payments due?
 - what is the cancellation policy if the venue cancels the booking?
 - what is the cancellation policy if the couple cancels the booking?
 - are there any costs not included in their specified wedding and ceremonies packages?

Coordination
- what is the maximum venue capacity for guests? Or is there a minimum number of guests required for booking?
 - do you have to use the venues suppliers for things like catering, venue styling and flowers?
 - has the venue got a civil ceremonies licence?
 - are there specific times ceremonies take place?
 - is parking available for guests?
 - is there accommodation on site for guests, or can you recommend accommodation nearby?
 - if there is accommodation on site what are the check in and check out times?
 - when can we access the venue, before and after the ceremony, to decorated and remove decorations?
 - is confetti allowed?
 - does the venue have disabled access?
 - is an early check-in available for guests at the hotel before the ceremony?

Food and drink
- what are the menu options included in the specified wedding, and ceremonies packages, and what are the options for allergies and food restrictions?
 - is there any food, tea, and coffee included in the evening do package?
 - are there any free drinks included in the wedding breakfast? (usually, a glass of fizz for the toast would be provided, but this is not guaranteed).
 - how many guests can each table seat?
 - are linen, crockery and glasses included in the cost?
 - is there a corkage fee? (If you purchase your own wine)
 - are there any sound restrictions after certain hours, does the DJ/band have to finish at a certain time?
 - does the bar have to close at a certain time?
 - does the bar have a minimum spend, or any additional charges?
