About Wakefield

Wakefield District Council is a single (unitary) tier local government organisation. The Council is one of thirty-six ‘metropolitan’ type local authorities. It serves a resident population of over 353,000 people, covering more than 160,000 domestic properties, and an area of approximately 339 square kilometres.
