Description: 1.I am writing to request clarification and documentary evidence regarding the ownership of the land at Highfield Road, Hemsworth, identified within the Wakefield District Local Plan as LP1511 and currently proposed for residential development. Please could Wakefield Council confirm: 1. Whether Wakefield Council currently owns all or any part of the land comprising LP1511 at Highfield Road, Hemsworth. 2. If the Council does own any of the land, please provide documentary evidence confirming its ownership, including the relevant HM Land Registry title number(s) and a plan identifying the land owned by the Council. 3. Please confirm when and how the Council acquired the land, including the date of acquisition. 4. If the Council does not own the whole site, please identify which areas of LP1511 are Council-owned and provide a plan clearly showing those areas. 5. Please confirm whether the Council has sold, transferred, agreed to sell, granted an option over, entered into a development agreement concerning, or otherwise disposed of any interest in this land to Persimmon Homes or any other developer/company. 6. If such an agreement exists, please provide details of when it was entered into and the nature of the Council’s interest or agreement, subject to any lawful exemptions regarding commercially sensitive information. As this land is allocated for a substantial residential development of approximately 185 homes, I believe it is important that there is clarity regarding its ownership and the Council’s interest in the site.
