Description: This request concerns the demolition of the old Low Ackworth Community Centre on Townend Playing Field (Building Control file reference: 26/50020). Please note that this fire-damaged structure sat directly at the side of an open, public children's play park. Despite several prior safety warnings sent to the Council regarding this site and its high-risk location, please provide a direct answer to the following questions: 1. When the Section 80 Demolition Notice was formally applied for regarding this building, was an independent Asbestos Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) Survey submitted alongside it to the Council? If yes, please provide a copy of this report. If no, please explicitly state that no such report accompanied the application. 2. Did Wakefield Council explicitly ask or require the applicants of the Section 80 notice to provide an industry-standard asbestos or structural safety report prior to giving the go-ahead for demolition? 3. Did Wakefield Council conduct or commission its own independent asbestos or dust test for this building prior to the demolition taking place?
